Great Atmosphere, Reasonable Prices This place is one of my favorites! The atmosphere is great, and the prices are reasonable. Came in on a Tuesday afternoon when it wasn’t busy, and the server was super friendly. We ordered our usual dishes. The shisamo was excellent—crispy tails and perfectly cooked fish roe in every bite. Tako wasabi is a must-order at any Japanese spot for me, and if you love wasabi and octopus, you’ll love this dish. The beef tongue was also solid. We asked for extra spicy seasoning to sprinkle on top, which made it an even better pairing with drinks. We also ordered the karaage don, which came with crispy Japanese fried chicken and a layer of soft egg over rice. Perfectly warm and comfy for a windy winter afternoon. The spicy sashimi bowl was another great addition—Korean-style spicy sauce, plenty of fresh salmon, with salad and rice for a well-balanced, healthy dish. Honestly, I feel like you can’t go wrong with anything here—whoever’s cooking has taste. Definitely coming back!
Went to Kanpai Izakaya for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary and loved it! The food was super tastywe had takoyaki, kaki fry, salmon tataki, omurice, and a tonkatsu tamago don. Everything was delicious. I also had a sake mojito and a sake margarita, both really good and fun to try. The vibe is cozy and intimate, and the place is easy to get to. Found this place on our last night in Halifax, sooooo happy the first sushi place we past was full. It is such a chill environment, the food is really great, it was a wonderful last meal in the city. We will absolutely come back when visiting.
Snacks were amazing. Had a bunch of delicious skewers, drinks that were absolutely delicious. We had many drinks. It helps that we had great company and the waitress was extremely nice and friendly. It was one of those nights where you wish they were open all night cause I don’t think I’d leave. Can’t wait to come back here!
BEST SUSHI IN HRM. Atmosphere sushi service Dont bother going to an AYCE place, this is soooooo much better and you get SO much sushi for a great price. So glad i chose here for our sushi night best sushi ive ever had!
Tasty! Delicious! Interesting mixing of different ingridients, tastes. Just 2 deserts - cheesecake and ice-cream, but a huge amount of delicious food, meals and appetizers. Nice atmosphere! A good service. (FYI, It's difficult to park around).
The food was exceptional (as expected) but what really caught me off guard was how damn good the service was. Very attentive, very friendly, very fast. Would recommend to anyone who wants a fantastic dining experience! We will be back. Edit: we've been back several times, and it had held true to its 5 star rating. I love this place, amazing food, and the servers are friendly and knowledgeable. This has become a "must visit on the regular" place for the wife and I. If you love delicious Japanese/Korean food, that's accessible and flavour forward, you need to check this place out!
